Criterion games have recently teased a new game via Twitter and it sounds a lot like Burnout.

“2010 will satisfy our increasing desire for travelling at a rate of high velocity….or words to that effect…”

But don’t get your hopes up on a new Burnout title; there are a few other games that could fill the gap. Let’s not think negative though, we all want a new Burnout, surly.
In other news, I received Assassins Creed 2 for Christmas and I absolutely love it.
Have a great New Year

Well if you looked at the title you may have worked it out. Modern Warfare 2 did indeed reach number one in the Christmas games chart this week, making it Christmas number 1 in terms of games, it was followed by Fifa 2010. It’s now the sixth week straight that Modern Warfare 2 has been sitting on top of the chart.

The top ten can be found below:

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision Blizzard)

FIFA 10 (EA)

Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)

Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo)

Assassin's Creed II (Ubisoft)

Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games (Sega)

New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Nintendo)

Forza Motorsport 3 (Microsoft)

Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)

Just Dance (Ubisoft)

It was expected, but what do you think the graph will look like this time next year. Could we see Killzone 3 somewhere in the chart, we could even see Battlefield Bad Company 2 if sales are strong though out the year. Or it could just be another Call of Duty game. Who knows, place your bets.

"PlayStation Home is fast becoming the meeting place of choice between users and developers," said Dan Hill, European Home business manager at SCEE .

"Every new game space enhances the overall experience for consumers, offering more variety, more choice and more enjoyment from a PlayStation Home session ... For developers, there's no better way of driving interest in their titles than giving fans a hands-on, interactive experience based around the game itself. A game space in PlayStation Home ought to be a core element of every studio's marketing strategy for new titles."

Along with the announcement Sony recently opened two new themed Home spaces, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time. There is also word that a new Motostorm space is on its way.

It’s been a long journey since the beginning of Home, the start looked bleak but the future is defiantly looking bright.

“It was pretty tough to squeeze a power-hungry piece of equipment like the PS3, drawing up to 250W, into a case this small, complete with power supply. I think it's a very advanced design, and am really proud of the engineers who achieved it. True, the case could have been made even smaller if we'd left the power supply on the outside, but that would have imposed restrictions on transport and use, making it harder to use freely.”

I’m glad Sony kept the power supply inside the console, carrying round a great block attached to a wire when on the move would have proved difficult.

GTA III in my opinion was a lot harder than newer versions, missions towards the end of the game, even with the famous weapon cheat, weren’t that easy.

Developed by Rockstar North, GTA III changed the face of gaming among the sandbox genre; the game was the start of something big. The Grand Theft Auto series is now one of the biggest selling games in the world, and it all started to kick off with the release of Grand theft Auto 3.

I remember slaying hours on this game, the kept me entertained as did everything else. With Grand Theft Auto games the player doesn’t have to follow the story missions to have fun, the greatest part was starting your own mayhem, going on a rampage, putting the weapon cheat on and blowing stuff up. The really was incredible and still remains to be to this day. That’s why the game makes GOTM this month.

The console that’s been talked about months before it release is finally here, the PS3 slim. Coming in at £250 seems to be a bargain, and it is.

The PS3 Slim is essentially just like your standard PS3, it comes with a Blu-Ray player, DVD upscaler and everything else you would expect. Sony did however remove the feature of installing another operating system, Linux, and backwards compatibility isn’t there. That aside the Slim is a sexy, quieter, lighter model compared to its predecessors. The hard drive is bigger, twice the size of the first model and it sounds as quiet as Agent 47.

My first impressions of the slim, when it was revealed at Gamescom were not good. I didn’t like the look of it and I missed the glossy piano finish. Looking at it now in my room, makes it look as good as any other console, if not better.

My previous Playstation cost me about £500, with two games when it was first released, and to be honest wasn’t the greatest piece of hardware I’d bought. Now times seem to have changed, Sony has mended the issues I used to dislike (although some still remain), with the release of the Slim, the future looks bright.

The PS3 I bought two years ago was on its way out, the Ethernet port and Wi-Fi adapter weren’t working at %100. So I traded the console in and got £180 off.

The slim put me on the Net as every console should, the words plug and play actually had a meaning to them. Finally I didn’t have to slave over internet connectivity.

My old PS3 used to heat my room like a radiator, so hot that I bought a tower fan to cool me down. The slim sounds very quiet and the heat produced is at a minimum. I can play for hours without even having to open a window.

The hard drive is big enough for all of your multi-media needs, boosting 120GB’s of storage. Such a high number from such a small machine is very impressive.

Sadly Sony didn’t include backwards compatibility which is a real shame. PS3 games aren’t cheap and PS1/PS2 games can produce just as much enjoyment that Playstation 3 games offer. A feature that could have easily been included in the console and hopefully will be, if possible, in a future Firmware update.

Around the back of the console there is a HDMI port for high definition gaming, like the previous. Sadly Sony still don’t include their own HDMI cable in the box. Instead you’ll have to buy one. Included in the box is the standard AV cable for standard viewing, a HDMI cable wouldn’t go a miss.

All in all the PS3 Slim is a far better gaming experience than the last, for me anyway. It’s Quieter, slimmer, lighter, less heat is produced all of which are qualities my previous model couldn’t match, however the lack of backwards compatibility is something it could and throwing that away wasn’t easy.

There are also rumours that the game will have over 90 circuits.

As with other games in the series there will be a mix of real world tracks and a few fictional ones thrown in for fun, but rumours also state that you will get the chance to create your own track and upload it online.

If you haven't guessed already, I'm talking about the Grand master of racers, Grand Turismo 5. This game will be the ultimate Driving simulator and for the first time it will have car damage, in some aspects, as well as authentic weather and improved Al systems.

E3 09 also confirmed that there are two new licensed game modes, these are NASCAR and WRC - confirming Polyphony's ongoing quest to capture every facet of the pro racing experience.

The only Question mark hanging over this game is how well our tastes have evolved since GT4. With titles such as Grid 2, Blur and Need For Speed Shift all trying to redefine the diving experience, taking us away from the safety exacting universe that GT inhabits.

But wait; before you go off and buy something else remember that just like Unreal Tournament III the game will come to life in mulitplayer and that just so happens to be the case. The aiming is pure twitch making for a light fast paced play with plenty of respawns, power-ups, so between the games on Call of duty 4 and killing some Nazi zombies on World at war, it comes in handy for a quick break and is well worth its £6.29 value.

But the main thing people ask: “is this new map any good?” I’m here to give you another reason why you should buy this game, in a short review of the map.

Well from what I have played from it, it’s pretty impressive and this map is only for planes which means... DOG FIGHTS! And they work really well along with the beautiful landscape as seen above.

In the new “Air Superiority” game mode teams gain points by staying in a highlighted part of the map and because almost everyone in the team is doing this its mayhem! But if you’re not the best in flying these tricky to handle planes then you can stay back on the freighter and shot them down with the emplaced turrets.

This game took hours of time away from me as I played, and played, and played. I remember when I was young watching my cousin playing it and from then on, as soon as I had a PS1 and a copy of the game, I was hooked, and the whole series became epic to me. Not only did crash help the Playstation it helped me have a fun child hood.

Let’s ask the question. Should there new there be a zombie type mini-game in the new call of duty?

Yes

Of course there should be a game mode among the same lines of that found in COD WAW. It’s a big success for Treyarch and is one of their main selling points for the release of their map packs. Not only is it a great money bringer it’s also a fun, tactical, long lasting game mode that is really entertaining to play. So why would they get rid of it? Activision wouldn’t have to copy it, instead they could transform it, improve it and make it better in all forms, we all know how good Activision are at improving things. In conclusion it’s a great game mode; it’s profitable for the company and fun for the player. Why get rid of something like that?

No

How long can the fun of shooting zombies in the head really last. Trayarch have extended the game mode as long as it will go now and I think it’s time to end it. The mode is very repetitive and can’t last forever. Instead of doing a zombie game mode I think that Activision should do something completely new, something better, something that will hit the same if not more success of the Nazi zombie mode. Copying is not Activision’s style and they will not add a zombie mode. I really hope the add a new mini game mode that will match Trayarch’s Nazi zombie mode, for now the zombies are gone, gone for good. Out with the old in with the new.

Call of Juarez, the game that started the series, was a typical western shooter. Most claimed its levels were frustrating and boring. It received very poor rating, and was an overall flop. You may see this and use it as an excuse not to play the second game. You would be crazy not to play it!

Singleplayer - Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood revolves around three brothers, two of them playable. The first is Tom, a sneaky rifleman. His other brother, Ray, is a gunslinger with revolvers. The third brother, William, works at the church. He tells the story between chapters, much like Resistance:Fall of Man did with the narrating woman. The story unfolds as this: Ray and Tom are on the Confederate side of the American Civil War. They are in the final days of the war, trying to push back the Union Army and save their home. As they are fighting, their leader Barnsby orders them to leave and fight another battle fifty miles away, leaving their home and family to die. They refuse and become deserters of the Confederate Army, leaving to protect their home. Barnsby swears revenge on them and wants them to hang. They eventually find that their house has been overrun, and destroyed. This leads into the whole point of the story. The brothers go on a search for the legendary Aztec gold of Mexico to rebuild their farm and home. Along the way is a lot of trouble, including soldiers and bandits. You can play as either Tom or Ray, which has little to no effect on the story. Ray is stronger, can kick down doors, and is better with guns. Tom is sneakier, better with longshots with a rifle, and can use a lasso to climb up objects. The game really is very great in the way the fighting goes. There is a cover system included, much like Killzone 2’s, which allows you to hide behind boxes and peak out to shoot. You can also enter concentration mode, which allows you to kill multiple enemies at once. It is basically a way to show how good the two brothers are with guns. There are also standoff modes, which allow you to have a standoff with a boss type character. You have to reach for your gun and shoot the boss when a bell goes off. It is rather fun, and can be quite challenging sometimes. Feature like this really make the game all that much better. You can even buy better guns during the game, instead of just picking random guns up off of enemies! The game has come quite a long way from the original Call of Juarez!

Multiplayer - There are five different multiplayer modes in the game.

Shootout: Wild West-style deathmatch based on bounty instead of frags. Kill all the others, and don't let them kill you!

Posse: Two teams fight against each other. When all the members of a team are killed, the team loses.

Wanted: Only the wanted can gain points for killing. The player can score by killing the Wanted. The player that kills the Wanted becomes wanted himself.

Wild West Legends: One of the teams has several objectives to complete; Some can be completed in different ways, some are optional. The opposing team is trying to prevent completion of the objectives within the time limit. Levels are strongly themed on real historical events.

Manhunt: There are two teams and one wanted player-the top player in one of the teams. If the wanted player survives for 60 seconds, the team scores. When the wanted player is killed, a new Wanted player from the opposing team is assigned(the top player on that team).

The multiplayer is nothing new, but with the wild west twist it certainly seems more fun! There are several different classes to play as, including Rifleman, Gunslinger, Native, Sniper, Officer, Gunsmith, and many more. They are all different, and have perks and downfalls. You can temporarily upgrade each class to give you a boost in the game, or permanently upgrade them for quite a bit of money. The one downfall is that it cost quite a bit of money to unlock a new class. For example, an Officer cost $50,000, but you only make between $500-$3000 a game, depending on the match. There are a few problems with multiplayer I should point out. This was not a very hyped game as because of its reputation, so there are not too many matches online(there are enough, so don't worry). It also seems to once and a while freeze, and is known for hit detection fails. As stated before, nothing new, but quite fun with the different maps and tons of classes. There are, I believe 5-7 maps with more on the way. All are pretty big, and resemble American Wild West type towns.

Graphics/Engine - The graphics are truly outstanding in this game. Everyone’s faces look extremely realistic. This game cna definitely be compared with Killzone 2. It uses the Chrome Engine 4, a really decent FPS engine. The guns look amazing, and everything truly looks great. It is a feast or the eyes, from the horses getting wet and soaked fur, to the blood that splatters out of an enemies head.

Final Verdict - It had a terrible reputation from the first game, but it really pulled through. This game is worth every penny! The story is very good, and the gunfights are amazing! Things like shootout duals, 13 different multiplayer classes, riding horses, and a great story move this away from other FPS games I would say this is the best western game for years. It raised the bar for FPS and western games alike. The game definitely deserves an 8.5.

8.5/10

A blast from the past! Ghostbusters is back and bigger than ever. The new video game of the very popular movie franchise is almost here and it is better than alright. The storyline sees you play as the 'new guy' of the Ghostbusters group. If you’re a die-hard Ghostbusters fan then you'll love this, if you’re not then you'll probably still love it just as much. The original cast have taken the time to record all the voice acting and that is one thing in the game that pays off hugely.

The gameplay is very unique as you take on such famous ghosts as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Slimer. When catching a ghost you create absolute destruction. Which is fun! And once you've caught your first ghost (Slimer) in the tutorial level of the game you feel as if you've accomplished something huge. Fire your proton beam until you have your ghost, then quickly slide a trap underneath him and once the ghosts energy levels are low you can slam them into the trap. You may even get a little dizzy watching your proton beams moving all over the place to wrangle the ghosts into position.

As this is a video game and you play as the new game, you are the experiment. So your given a new gadget at the start of every level. Different types of beams are for different types of ghost and you will gradually learn a lot more than you think you could as you progress through the game.

The PKE Meter is a very helpful device as it helps identify new ghouls with it's scanner. It can also identify collectables, clues and enemies through the game. The not so much highlight of the game is the first-person night vision which takes the third-person feeling out of the game and it does disturb the game slightly but not for long at all.

The game should certainly be welcomed by consoles as it isn’t just alright like most games made from movies; it's good and verging on brilliant. The graphics are excellent even though the PS3 version isn't as polished as the 360 but not to worry it is still a good game. It's a decent length for any game and is probably worth the £40/$80 that it will be selling for. You will be pleasantly surprised with this game.

Another interesting topic and one where I would like to hear your feedback.

So where would you put the next GTA, your area, your country? Let’s have an argument.

Las Vegas

The lights, the glamour, the dessert, all seem crazy enough for a Grand Theft Auto game. Las Vegas would be a great location for the GTA scene, the area would be big and you can just imagine what type of songs they would play on the radio. The whole attitude and style of the place suits the nature of GTA perfectly in my opinion, but what era should the game be set? The 1980s, the 1990s, or the 2000s, maybe even all three? For me it would defiantly be all three, I loved the way Driver pulled it off and the guys at GTA would defiantly pull it off, if not in style. Character name: Elvis.

London

You knew it was coming; England’s capital, London. Of course GTA was set there many games back in GTA London. Hopefully Rockstar wouldn’t mock the British accent too much. The cars would be classics such as the Mini and the buses, red and old. Whether it be set in the 60s or now, I personally think London would be a great location for the game to be set in. Listening to the Beetles whilst driving away from the cops would be a great experience. Character name: Benjamin.

Alabama

This would defiantly make for a good GTA. Alabama suit the style of the game and would rebelliously be fun. The map would be big, the locals would be funny and the sound track would contain mostly Lynyrd Skynyard. Cars maybe not be the most exciting but the mission would be. Knowing Rockstar they would defiantly make a great story in a place like this. Sweet Home Alabama! Character name: Billy.

Cornwall

Bet you don’t even though were this is. If you live in the U.K you might know. It’s the County where I live in the south west of England. Seeing my house on GTA would be fun to start off and I’m sure you would like to see yours on the game. Imagine seeing yourself in the game, taking the trash out. The area I come from is a perfect location for GTA. A half built town, a bad reputation, pubs, and a sometimes strange population. Cars are varied and Cornwall in general has some beautiful beaches and scenery. Character name: Jack

Moscow

Well it would defiantly be crazy; guns, war, drugs and Russians. The sound track would be interesting and would either suck or rock. The cars would be a sight and may not be the greatest seen in a GTA game, but the area would be something special and the story would defiantly be an interesting one. Character name: Ivan, pronounced e-van.

What one would you choose, I woulld love to hear. Please comment below.

The main theme of Prototype is to get revenge through deception and destruction. So you may think it is along the same story lines as a GTA Title. It’s certainly not. It’s a lot more than that. Every mission is different, requiring different varieties of attacks and tactics.

You ask yourself questions whilst looking down on a troubled New York City. Should I go in hard and tear everything to pieces or a quieter approach? Should I use a helicopter or a tank to destroy everything? Whichever decision you make, you will feel rewarded afterwards.

Almost the very first thing you do in Prototype is kill a lot of people. The game opens in Time Square, New York City and everything surrounding you is exploding from buildings to manholes, tanks are firing at mutants which are leaping from the cities billboards whilst you (Alex Mercer_, are in the middle of everything chopping literally everything and everyone into pieces.

The structure of the game heavily resembles other games like GTA IV and Assassins Creed. Your free to roam anywhere at any time through the game from the moment you start playing. Side missions are dotted all over the map which resembles either side-missions or min-games. Mission markers are yellow and are available to be activated at any time. The games full missions will reveal who Alex Mercer actually is as you slowly progress through the game. Be warned, as there are a lot of twists in the plot. You will meet different characters through the game who know more about the viral outbreak of mutants. You then have the ability to absorb into these characters and find out what they know.

At the start of the game you will only have the ability to simply run and jump and as you progress and experiment through the game, you will earn Experience Points (EP) which you will then be able to upgrade Mercer in almost any way you want.

Consuming people will be a great experience for any gamer as you will be able to sneak into military bases and you can also upgrade to a stealth costume. Another excellent tactic against military bases by attracting attention to a mutant which will distract enemy fire and possibly the best ability of all is that if you steal the right identity you can order in artillery strikes onto your enemy bases or virus hives. Boosting Mercer’s strength is a must as he’ll be able to pick up heavier objects with more force and with the ‘Spiderman-like’ webbing Mercer has you will be able to pull heavier objects such as helicopters to the ground or you could catch a ride.

During the game you will be involved in some excellent boss fights with the best one possibly being the first one where you have an epic battle in the centre of a viral hive. At this point Mercer’s blades feel terrible to control but don’t worry as you will get used to them.

The mini-games featured in the game are also exceptional with five game types (Kill, War, Consume, Movement and Glide). In kill you simply kill as many mutants or military personals but with military devices such as tanks or helicopters. War is a lot like Kill except you don’t use military devices. Consume is where you have to locate and consume a certain character. Movement is simply a range of races around the city and finally Glide is where a target is set on the map and you must leap from the roof of a building, glide and land as close as possible to the target. The closer you get, the more EP you are rewarded with and it’s easier the next time around.

The game is superb, and offers so many ways to play it, with so much carnage and fun in it, you can’t go wrong. The only blank point is no co-op or multiplayer. You’ll be experimenting the game for months to come.

My Score – 9/10

A giant explosion rips through the city. You can barely see. People are burned alive and crushed all around you. You wake up, being the sole survivor of the explosion in that part of town. You are Cole Macgrath! The moment you have all been waiting for, the inFAMOUS review, has finally arrived. So you ask, is the game fried or is it electrified? Read on to find out.

inFAMOUS is the story of Cole, a messenger who is directed to deliver a package, secretly designed as a bomb. He is the sole survivor of an electric explosion, which ultimately gives him amazing electric based powers. He learns that the city, Empire City, has been shut down by the U.S government to contain the biochemical explosion and mutated people.

The town has fallen into chaos, with local gangs rising to the top to control the city. The government has given up on you, barely giving enough supplies to the people. After awakening Cole finds out, Thanks to a local broadcaster, that he is the cause of the explosion, which turns the people against him. He tries to escape the city and reach freedom, but is captured by Moya, a high ranking government official. He is then forced to find the Ray Sphere, a mysterious unknown device. Along the way, you also have mini quests to complete, which are all mixed up and very fun.

The game is very close to The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which has the same basic mini quests and main plot gameplay. They give more to do besides just the quest for the Ray Sphere. Some are based on choice, such as choosing how you are represented in the city. Others are just beating up baddies. This develops into the great part of the game. You can choose to either become a hero, and save the city from ultimate doom, or become infamous and destroy it. The game is very enjoyably because it is based upon your personal morals and views. You can either have people fear you, or love you.

The game is basically a sandbox style adventure game, with some very detailed graphics. You have to relight the city in some scenarios, giving you more advanced powers. You can throw electric grenades, glide on wires, shoot electric, snipe, and many other enjoyable powers. Whether you choose to become infamous or a hero, these choices change your powers.

The town is split into several sections, with different bad guys in each including The Dust Men, Reapers, and Soldiers. Your powers are very weak in hurting them, so strategy is a must. The game really sets new boundaries for Sandbox games, whether it is grinding around the city, or the overall plot. It is very different than GTA, and more fun.

Although a Sand Box game, it feels like it has never been done before. Expect to get annoying phone calls like in Grand Theft Auto 4 because they play a huge part in the plot.

Pros- The games graphics are really amazing, and the electric powers come out very clear and nice. The games double storyline also make is a very enjoyable game, and enhances the replay value. It feels like it has never been done before, and it was great.

Cons- At times, Cole claims he is weak and the games graphics get blurry. This is rather annoying, and could be just be an excuse by Sucker Punch. Another problem is that the powers you have are really weak. They are terrible! And there is no multiplayer, which brings the score down a bit

Verdict- I give this game a 9/10.

Its a really awesome game and feels like its never been done before. I think its a great addition to anyone’s PS3 library.

Infamous has been talked about for some time now and is only playable for PS3 owners. So what’s so good about? Well the game offers a super hero approach, like Spiderman except without the bad game-play, and poor graphics. Infamous is set to change the poor standard of hero games before it.

You play as Cole, a character who mysteriously has electrical powers after a package he was carrying explodes and tears down the city he lives in. Gangs have taken over the city and are causing havoc to the civilians.

Cole is a very powerful character and must make decisions though out the game that affects his karma and the way pedestrians behave around him. The choices you make effects the story line and the powers which Cole has the ability possess. Good or evil, the choices you make change the way you play.

The game looks to be a great game and a review will be up on the site as soon as possible.

Prototype, another new game among the genre takes a more graphical view to the hero style of game play. You play as a mutated character called Alex Mercer in an infected New York City. The city has been split into different sections. The U.S army are struggling to control the situation and your character is neither good nor bad.

Alex has the ability to transform his body into various weapons, including mutating his arms into spikes that can cut though flesh, steel and anything. Along with that he can also consume peoples bodies, taking their identify, he is basically a shape shifter

The game looks great and offers gore, New York and The United States Army, a game with such features really has to be good. However will it be quite as good as infamous, both games offer an open world environment, but on a completely different style. Let’s move on to our last game, that being Assassins Creed 2.

Assassins Creed was to be as some might say; repetitive though the story was in my opinion good, however not great. This game is not completely new like the other two; players have already had a taste of the action form the first game, whether they liked it or not the squeal is set to raise the bar and hopefully answer some unanswered questions.

The second game is set in Italy a few hundred years ahead of the last and instead of playing Altair you play a new character called Ezio, as well as Desmond the person held captive in 2012.

So you know the details, but what game? All the games look fantastic and if you liked the previous Assassins Creed game then the squeal maybe the one for you, however both infamous and Prototype look amazing and the choice would be a hard one if you had to decide between just one.

In graphically terms, in my opinion, I would say that Assassins Creed 2 would beat the others this is based on trailers from the other games and the quality of graphics from the last Assassins Creed.

In story terms I would go for infamous mainly because of the karma system, but the story from Assassins Creed had me hooked and I’m desperate to find out what the hell happened at the end of the last game.

Then again Prototype looks awesome and the fact that you can literally tear people in two along with other abilities makes it stand out with its gore and originality.

If I had to make a choice between the 3 games, I would chose infamous, mainly due to fact it’s a PS3 exclusive that looks great, has what seems to be a great story and has a person who possesses some kick ass powers.

Feel free to comment on the choice you would make and leave a reason if you wish, I would love to hear your say.

At the time the price was pretty high about £425.00 and with Call Of Duty 3 and Motorstorm it came in at about £500.00. Back then the PS3 was being criticized in so many ways, few games, and little exclusives, high price, but still with all said, I stayed true to Sony.

It was a slow start for the PS3; Motorstorm really impressed me, showing off a small percentage of the PS3’s power. Call Of Duty had what I thought to be good online, however compared to its sequel it was nothing.

As time went on the PS3 grew and started to shine. The haters were sent back to their dying Xbox’s and I was happy:).

The stream of updates that came from there on completely changed the PS3. Firmware updates were coming fast and there were making some great improvements. Soon more of my friends started to own PS3’s and I could kick their A** online.

Over next few months Sony, announced more great games and once again I was happy, very happy. The new redesigned Playstation Store was a great improvement and content was flying in thought its doors.

Then I had an idea, I decided to start my very own site. It’s been fun and instead of reading the stories I write them. Now followed by a great team I continue on this journey that the PS3 inspired me to do.

Littlebigplanet came next, and it was immense. No one had ever done anything like it before. Custom levels, easy tools, and sack boy, genius. With Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Resistance 2 confirmed the PS3 was shinning bright, just like the smile on my face. The two games were both exclusives and both fantastic buys. Then Killzone 2, one word WOW! This game was and still is incredible; the online is amazing and the story, in my words Rocks!

Now we’re here. inFamous around the corner along with more great exclusives like God Of War 3, Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2. It’s been a long journey and it’s going to be a bright future. My PS3 was worth every single penny I saved for, and I’m glad I bought it.

I’m here to reveal if it’s flourished, as like the movie, or fallen under the pressure, due to rivalry. Some people say The Godfather was one of the best American films ever made. Does the game live up to its legacy?

The Godfather II took a step away from the GTA style of killing and you know what instead it took the more monopoly approach. You start off by being picked by Michael Corleone to become the Don, to run the family business. You get to customize your character Dominic in any way you like. Missions are given to you one by one as you create crimes for the greater good of your family, in term giving you a name in the maps of New York City and Florida. Dominic is a likeable guy but you don’t want him as an enemy, if you treat is family right and respect them well they will do the same back in your favour.

Here is the bit you’ve been waiting for. A new feature in the game is the Dons view, in this mode you can keep track of your businesses, and how many guards are protecting your warehouses and other buildings. What do I think of this feature? Well, the Dons view is a great attribute in the game that real pulls off the strategic feel, as I mentioned earlier, and it really makes you think about which move to make next and how that will in turn affect the rest of the cities gangs and businesses.

The graphics are good, not awesome, but not awful. They are for sure an upgrade from the last games graphics. The one thing I really loved about the games graphics was the explosions; they really captured the full detail and ferocity of a loud BANG!

Online play is good but not revolutionary. It contains 6 maps and you can play with up to 16 people which extends the value of this game by a bit.

The game play is somewhat like Grand Theft Auto but with a mafia twist which makes it unique and interesting in many ways throughout. The game is quite a nice improvement from the last in many ways. This in my opinion is enough to buy the full copy rather than rent it.

My Verdict is 7.8/10

Here is my preview on Infamous, one of the most anticipated games of 2009. The game is being made by sucker punch, if you don’t know them; they are also the inventers behide Cooper and Sly. So this is how the game starts out....Be prepared.

A massive explosion rips through New York City and Cole McGrath, you, are the last man standing in a huge crater. The explosion has triggered something inside you, as you soon find out you have gained various powers, but first you become unconscious for 2 weeks. After waking up from the disaster you find New York City in chaos, gangs are terrorizing the streets and the NYPD have fled the city mainly because of you and the chaos you’ve created.

The City is dark and very gloomy and the population is scarce. The environments are destructible, so that adds a lot to the playground of New York.

I personally like how they have almost cloned to perfection the environment of New York unlike other games that failed in the past example: Spider-Man .

Your goal is to set things straight by using your powers you fight back against all terror in New York. As Cole, yourself, struggles to learn how to control his powers and the responsibility they bring, the hard work becomes too hard and trying to save the city as well fight off larger threats of larger and more powerful enemies puts a lot on his plate.

The feature that make this game special is the fact that you chose your character, remember Fallout 3, good, as like the game you build a Karma level, you can be mean or you can be nice. Unlike Fallout 3 your behaviour results in different stories and maybe even a different ending. Well Fallout 3 did have a different dialogue but that’s not really a different end mission.

So far the game release date is set for June 9, 2009 so keep your eyes on this one it’s worth the $59.99/£39.99. No word on online play yet. It’s a Playstation 3 exclusive so it’s something that might have some awards for VGA 2010 and I hope to do a full review on the game as soon as possible.

Preview Verdict: 8.6/10

You had dreams every night for months that you could curve bullets And you want more? Well, lucky for you, the whole game is based on the blockbuster film, and I am here to help you decide if it is a decent sequel.

Single player- You take part in two roles during the entire game. Wesley, the main protagonist of the movie, is back trying to learn about his history. He is in the process of becoming a full- fledged assassin, and is after the Frech chapter of the fraternity while hunting down the Immortal. Cross, his father, is part of a series of flashback levels to help you understand the full story. Both characters move and work just about the same, the only difference being the levels they are in. Wanted uses a fairly universal third person shooter game engine with enhanced graphics to give a very similar feel and look, just like the film. Compared to the movie, it looks well, but just lacks the engaging story of the comic and the movie. It uses a sort of "quick cover system" that allows you to move quickly through cover and engage and stun your enemies, but at some points it can just feel rushed. Enemies take way too many bullets to kill, and a lot of times playing the game just gets annoying. You can curve bullets, but the controls make it difficult to hit your target as easily as in the movie. The whole story is ok, but it is definitely not worth six try dollars. To be well and fair it is not horrible, but it does not live up to the expectations set for it.
THE VERDICT: Wanted: Weapons of fate is definitely a rental game because it really does nothing outstanding to make you want to purchase it. It also lacks multiplayer, and with a sixty dollar purchase tag, you would have to be crazy to dish out that much money! The story is not really that amazing, and this game could have definitely used some improvements. GRADE-7/10

Maybe they could just include it in something like a new Web Browser. Remember at GDC09 Sony said they would announce something big but could this be it? I hope they do.

The graphics are jaw dropping and the story is compulsive yet intriguing it gives a horror movie vibe that really draws you in to the whole setting and scene.

The story is divided into 6 chapters and is set in Africa where you, Chris Redfield, 35 from the BSAA North American Branch are sent there for an investigation in a Shanty town partnered up with Sheva Alomar, 25 from the BSAA South African Branch. The Zombies are mindless and life sucking freaks and the bosses are downright strong and have a large health bar and various weapons (like chainsaws, throwing knives etc.) .As you go through Africa blowing Zombies heads off and exploring you meet important town leaders and people who know about the disease that has been sweeping the towns. As you progress through the game you find out about mysterious happenings that you must solve.

This game has definitely created higher standards for horror games and has shown off the capabilities of the Playstation 3's great power.

In the end this is a title that you must have on your shelve. This game has definitely got awards ahead for itself in the next VGA 2009 and probably has a game of the year nomination, in my opinion.

Rating Score 9.2
