Wanted: Weapons of Fate

You lived through the breathtaking action and amazing stunts in Wanted. You sat on the edge of your seat, and you could not believe the twists in the plot. You had dreams every night for months that you could curve bullets  And you want more? Well, lucky for you, the whole game is based on the blockbuster film, and I am here to help you decide if it is a decent sequel.

Single player- You take part in two roles during the entire game. Wesley, the main protagonist of the movie, is back trying to learn about his history. He is in the process of becoming a full- fledged assassin, and is after the Frech chapter of the fraternity while hunting down the Immortal. Cross, his father, is part of a series of flashback levels to help you understand the full story. Both characters move and work just about the same, the only difference being the levels they are in. Wanted uses a fairly universal third person shooter game engine with enhanced graphics to give a very similar feel and look, just like the film. Compared to the movie, it looks well, but just lacks the engaging story of the comic and the movie. It uses a sort of "quick cover system" that allows you to move quickly through cover and engage and stun your enemies, but at some points it can just feel rushed. Enemies take way too many bullets to kill, and a lot of times playing the game just gets annoying. You can curve bullets, but the controls make it difficult to hit your target as easily as in the movie. The whole story is ok, but it is definitely not worth six try dollars. To be well and fair it is not horrible, but it does not live up to the expectations set for it.
THE VERDICT: Wanted: Weapons of fate is definitely a rental game because it really does nothing outstanding to make you want to purchase it. It also lacks multiplayer, and with a sixty dollar purchase tag, you would have to be crazy to dish out that much money! The story is not really that amazing, and this game could have definitely used some improvements. GRADE-7/10
