Firmware Update 3.00 Is Out Now "Whats New"

Today Sony released a system update which changed the PS3 in many ways. Here are the main features in this update.

Main Features

"Whats New"-The information board has been replaced by "whats new" which allows you to see the latest news every time you click on it.      

Status Indicator-The status indicator is located in the top right hand corner which will show you how many friends are online and a message icon which will stae if there are any new messages. ANd in addition when you press the PS button it will no longer cover up the clock.

Friends list-Your friends list has been redisigned, also you will be able to view messages from thier own respective profiles.

Playstaion Store Shortcut-Sony has made a shorcut for the Playstation Store under "Game" and "video".

Personalization- Personalize your Playstaion with new dynamic themes and avatars. These are available through the Playstation store FREE and premium. The dynamic themes takes your screen to a whole new level and it incorparates animated objects in the backround!

Trophies-Trophies are now even better because you can see subcategories which will display your "add on" trophies...look out for this in future games.

TV section and Iplayer- there is a new BBC Iplayer under a section named TV (if you have playTV then you may already have this section) from here you can see programes from BBC1, 2, 3 and more!

And not forgetting the new screen you see when you turn on your console showing the new PS3 logo and new backround.
