Need for Speed: Undercover VS Midnight Club: Los Angeles (Posted By Jawad)
2009-03-22 22:11Both are street racers who have seen better days. The seventh generation isn’t taking on board the street racer scene like on previous consoles. So both games have adequate graphics and physics but they do have a large range of vehicles and tracks.
Need for Speed: Undercover
It has many good elements like the Heroic Driving engine which lets you do a J turn at any time. The Bugatti Veyron is a beast and when fitted with a turbo and NOS it’s even more frightening. The customization is average and the presentation is sweet. The storyline isn’t great because it was too hyped up and now it doesn’t make any sense. You win races to get away from the cops or get them after you? Must be on cocaine! There are bed frame rates which have been solved with a 17MB patch. The online is cool. You get to show off your cars and play Cops’n’robbers which is a blast.
Midnight Club: Los Angeles
The game has a solid frame rate even in a real version of Los Angeles. The cars can be extensively customized from the rims to the steering wheel. There a selection of cars varying from supercars to American muscle. The main protagonist is a cool guy and the in car view is stunning. The physics are a letdown as in GTA4. The online is great fun too. The city is beautiful and stunning; it’s an exact copy of the real city. The recent DLC gives new cars and a new location to race in. MCLA has trophies too.
I wouldn’t buy either. NFSUndercover is exactly the same as Most Wanted. Even the Police radio chats. The only thing that’s improved is the graphics, and MCLA has lost that feel it used to have. Maybe it’s the free roam city or the terrible physics.
I would probably wait for another street racer but they aren’t popular nowadays. Or get Burnout Paradise or even a Sim racer.
