Well here’s a list of games that are on everyone’s minds

  • 1.       Gran Turismo 5
  • 2.       Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  • 3.       Heavy Rain
  • 4.       FUEL
  • 5.       Prototype
  • 6.       InFamous
  • 7.       I Am Alive
  • 8.       M.A.G
  • 9.       Split/Second

Well that is a lot of games to think about and I also didn’t put them in order of anything. So here I’m going to talk about the many reasons wht you should buy these games.

1.       The Gran Turismo series is a big part in the Playstation name and the PS3 has already tested the Prologue and now we’re waiting anxiously for the polished full game. The game will roar at you with real sounds of each car and even the real interior. There will be over 1000 cars to pick from. There’s an indefinite amount of tracks and the graphics are going to be improved. Polyphony Digital wants to get every car accurate in terms of every polygon or even the mountains in the background of the track. You might call them perfectionists but it will pay off in the end when this rocks stores in late 2009 or any time in 2010.

2.       Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was a visually stunning, solid, beautiful game by Naughty Dog. The storyline was wonderful and the game itself had great features especially when it comes to the water simulation. The game was spot on in terms of its action/adventure assets. Naughty Dog says that the first entry in the series used a minimal amount of power from SONY’s black beast. Now SONY has given the developers a large fund realizing how special the company is and their capabilities with the PS3s power. So expect the second game to have even more gripping storylines and the visuals will be dramatically improved to bring the best experience possible.

3.       Heavy Rain is a game made by Quantic Dream and they aim to give a movie feel to the game. The storyline is also brilliantly tailored even to surpass some movies. All the cut scenes are real life actors, who act, and they get put into REAL TIME, their looks are altered to give new body figures so they look how the directors want. It will be stunning because they focused on making Rain effects amazing and with that came the whole sky and then they decided that the atmosphere of the game will change with the weather. Say for example if someone is killed in a shootout in the street the Rain will pour heavily and the clouds will turn black. It’s a nice feature.

4.       FUEL is made by Codemasters who are responsible for Grid and Dirt. They know how to make a good racing game and from the looks of it, are doing a good job. FUEL will boast 5,000 (14,000 km sq) square miles of terrain.  This is inspired by America’s landmarks like Monument Valley or the Andes or Rockies. The game is like Motorstorm or Baja in terms of how you do things. It will have cars, bikes, trucks and buggies. The game isn’t just a free roam game. It also contains a crazy weathering system. The climate has changed and there are now lots of natural hazards like snowstorms, tornadoes or avalanches. Tornadoes can throw trees and debris at you putting you off track. It is simply remarkable.

5.       Prototype is a new game coming very soon. You are Alex Mercer and you are a scientific experiment but things went bad and you turned all inhuman and stuff. So now you can shapeshift and disguise yourself to find out who you really are and who deserves your wrath. There are some great things in this game such as the freedom. You can run up any building or free run. You can fly and jump really high. You are almost indestructible too. You can get in Tanks and Helicopters. Alex has superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability and healing. He can also change to see in infra-red, night-vision, thermal vision (which can double as an Infected Sensor) and the ability to track individual enemies in a crowd (similar to Altair's Eagle Vision in Assassin's Creed.

6.       InFamous is a PS exclusive and is a free roam sand box style game from Sucker Punch. You can choose to be good or bad. You are Cole McGrath. A bike messenger for Empire city. At the start of the game, a package that Cole was assigned to deliver causes a huge explosion that rips apart six city blocks, leaving behind a crater and Cole as the only survivor. The explosion has given Cole many electric powers, but he falls into unconsciousness, waking up two weeks later to find that Empire City has fallen into chaos; without police, gangs have taken over areas of the city, and a plague has infected many of the residents causing the city to be quarantined by the government. Cole can’t go into water, obviously, so he has many weaknesses. He can shoot electricity rays and balls which are like grenades.

7.       I Am Alive is made by Ubisoft. It is set in Chicago after a massive earthquake. You are Adam Collins who survived and has to solve problems and mainly interact with other citizens. The game is in first person view. It's a more realistic take on the survival genre, showing how one man can survive a catastrophic event, which could happen. There isn’t much about it yet, but it looks amazing.

8.       MAG – Massive Action Game is a MMO made by Zipper Interactive who also made SOCOM. The game has a amazing 256 player online battle. This is a lot compared to the likes of Call of Duty. You are in a 8 man squad, led by the most experienced player on the team. You must co operate in order to win. It is possibly a third person shooter or first. The makers have had a conference showing some of the features in the game. (City96ps3’s YouTube has this video, check it out!) Many subtitles are being considered for the game, like MAG: Shadow War,MAG: Zero, MAG: Global Assault and MAG: Final Hour.

9.       Split/Second is a game from the makers of PURE. Black Rock aim to deliver you an insight into a reality T.V show, where you do whatever it takes to win. There is a city environment where the racing vehicles are able to use the city buildings, bridges, construction sites and water pipes as a means to get to the finish first. It has a Burnout Paradise look and feel to the city. The damage and physics on the cars are remarkable. It has a lot to compete against. There may be other vehicle types but no information has been released about the cars. The range of explosive options will make you take tactical decisions about whether to attack your rivals or open up shortcuts.

You mean "a list of games that are on your’s mind", right?

I mean, c'mon! I can somehow accept Prototype getting higher than InFamous, but no God of War III? WTF?!
