E3 09: The Motion Controller, WOW!

Now this really shocked me, it’s the new Motion Controller.

The capability of this device is amazing and the demo that showed it off at Sony’s E3 conference made my mouth drop.

The team of two, showed off how the movement sensor worked and how accurate it was, first of all by using different objects. The two showing the product did a great job, mucking around with all the various items, showing how accurate this new technology was. They then showed how you can also move around with the controller and played around.

Next they showed how precise the technology was when it came down to drawing. I was amazed how accurate his writing was, it was as if he were using an actual pencil. They then showed off the different effects this type of program can do. By showing a basic strategy game, spray painting and aiming, it all looked really, really good.

After that, came the good bit. The two then showed off how accurate the movement was by showing it in a basic sword game. It was fantastic; this technology is going to go a long way. The accuracy on his sword swipes where really realistic. Then a bow and arrow where shown and once again it amazed me, aiming with precision he was able to hit the groin and the head of the demo characters.

I can’t say one bad thing shown with the new motion controller, it was all amazing and beat the wii’s motion sensing by miles in my opinion.
